Manager, Partnerships & Transactions 

Areas of responsibility

The Partnerships and Transactions group at RWE Renewables is responsible for sourcing, structuring and executing cash equity partnerships for the company’s development, in-construction and operational assets in onshore wind, solar, storage and offshore wind in the US and in Canada. In addition, the team also supports the growth of the overall project pipeline through the acquisition of early and mid-stage development projects in onshore wind, solar and storage. 
As a Manager within the Partnerships and Transactions team, your role will be to advance the efforts of the team by:

  • Evaluating acquisition opportunities by managing due diligence and project management activities for onshore wind, solar and storage acquisitions 
  • Prepare preliminary financial models to value acquisition opportunities, audit and evaluate third-party models
  • Prepare ongoing board materials and briefing reports for key internal stakeholders on transaction and pipeline activities
  • Compile, analyze and summarize complex financial information and present insights to support investment decisions
  • Hold accountability for project timeline and budgets   
  • Manage investor diligence and Q&A as part of cash equity partnering strategy for RWE Renewables North America portfolio  
  • Develop relationships with external market participants to source new growth opportunities and investor relationships
 

Your profile

Minimum Skills / Qualifications:
• Business or analytical/quantitative degree, with 3-5 years of experience in the area of Finance, Economics or Business Administration. MBA, CFA or similar postgraduate degree considered a plus
• Understanding of energy and investor markets; renewable energy technologies a plus 
• Financial modelling skills coupled with good conceptual, strategic and analytical thinking skills. Ability to think and calculate through scenarios with a creative approach, an open mind, and a strong work ethic.
• Strong interpersonal skills, acting comfortably in various cultural environments with a sense for diversity and inclusion
• Comfort in managing relationships with senior stakeholders (both internal and external)
• Fluent in written and spoken English, other languages a plus

A successful candidate in this role also has the following attributes:
• Self-starter with experience managing and coordinating due diligence for investment opportunities
• Enthusiastic communicator with ability to contribute proactively to a collegial and supportive team environment 
• Strong intellectual curiosity and passion for the renewables industry generally
